Finished up the sermon notes
and the reading from this past week.
A number of things here.
Tying in the Isaiah passage.
Chiding when their hearts
are far from the Lord in worship.
The worship is function.
They teach the commandments
of men as doctrine.
For my heart--
Do NOT allow manmade
traditions to
Supercede
Scripture.
Jesus also talks to the people
about what makes us "dirty."
The evil things come from within the heart.
The disciples didn't get what Jesus
was saying here either.
Hard teachings.
Countercultural.
Not easy.
The crux of the matter-
the cost of discipleship.
